For Business Development Managers ·
What you'll accomplish
Launching a new reseller usually means rebuilding partner-facing enablement material from a blank slide, two to three hours of work pulling positioning and differentiators together for every launch. A custom GPT loaded with your product positioning and past one-pagers turns that into a first draft ready for design polish in minutes, cutting the drafting stage down to about 30-45 minutes of review.
What you'll need
Before building anything, collect your product positioning doc, a list of competitive differentiators, and two or three of your best past one-pagers. Building the custom GPT with weak source material produces weak drafts, so this prep step matters more than the setup itself.
In ChatGPT, click Explore GPTs in the sidebar, then click Create. Alternatively, click your profile in the bottom left, select My GPTs, then Create a GPT.
What you should see: A split-screen builder interface: a configuration panel on one side, a live preview chat on the other.
Troubleshooting: If you don't see the option to create a GPT, confirm your plan includes GPT-building access. The free tier doesn't include it.
Switch to the Configure tab and fill in a Name (like "Partner One-Pager Builder"), a Description, and Instructions describing exactly what this GPT does: takes a partner's name and use case, and drafts a one-pager in your established format.
Example instructions:
You help draft partner enablement one-pagers for a B2B business development manager. Given a partner's name, vertical, and use case, produce a one-pager following the format in the uploaded reference documents: headline, problem statement, solution overview, three key differentiators, and a call to action. Use our actual positioning language from the uploaded files. Never invent product capabilities that aren't in the source material.
Still in the Configure tab, upload your product positioning doc, competitive differentiator list, and past one-pagers under Knowledge. Supported formats include PDF, TXT, and DOCX, subject to a size limit.
What you should see: Uploaded files listed under the Knowledge section of the Configure tab.
Leave Web Search off unless you specifically want the GPT to pull outside information. Set visibility to Only me so this stays internal to you, unless your team wants shared access, in which case Anyone with the link keeps it off the public GPT Store.
Switch to the preview panel and give the GPT a real partner name, vertical, and use case. Review the output against your Instructions and adjust the Instructions if the draft misses your format or tone.
What you should see: A structured one-pager draft in the preview chat, following the format you specified.
Once the output looks right, save the GPT. It now appears under My GPTs for every future partner launch.
Adjust tone for a technical audience:
Rewrite this one-pager for a more technical audience (IT directors, not executives). Lead with integration and compliance details rather than business outcomes.
Shorten for a slide instead of a printed page:
Condense this one-pager into five bullet points suitable for a single presentation slide, keeping the strongest differentiator language.
Generate a variant for a second partner in the same vertical:
Using the same format, draft a one-pager for a second partner, [Partner Name], also targeting healthcare-tech but with a use case focused on [different use case].
